Amazing recognition for our very own Nicky Field

At Futureworks (Yorkshire) we have an amazing team and we are still celebrating the results of the G4C Constructing Excellence Awards last week. Why do you ask? We are so happy that our Placement Officer, Nicky Field, gained some amazing recognition by winning the Mentor of the Year Award.

Judges were looking for individuals who had shown a commitment to developing the future leaders of the industry, investing time and nurturing while offering support and guidance. In addition they were looking for an individual that has a good knowledge of the industry and current topics, showing a keen interest to mentor while aiming to influence mentees to develop their careers in the industry. There is no doubt that Nicky does all of this.

Nicky continuously demonstrates that she mentors across a wide range of apprentices to the industry, not only supporting them but delivering positive outcomes to the host employer. Judges felt that Nicky goes the extra mile in not only offering vocational guidance but pastoral support, helping individuals overcome barriers to enable them to go on to become successful adults. She truly is delivering tomorrow’s future today.

Commenting on her Mentor of the Year Award, Nicky said:

“I am overwhelmed and elated to have won this Award. Having worked so hard and doing all I can to support young people and apprenticeships within construction in the Y & H region, it is fantastic to have been recognised. Thank you to everyone.”

Mark Scott, Director at Futureworks Yorkshire added:

“Nicky’s hard work and commitment has been fully recognised and is incredibly well deserved. Her role comes with challenges but she always works hard to overcome these and ensure that our apprentices get the most out of their apprenticeships and develop their skills to help them progress in their careers. Every day she works with our apprentices providing the support and guidance they need to help them succeed. Congratulations Nicky and keep up the good work.”
