‘’Futureproofing the Business”

The apprenticeship landscape and harnessing the talented young people of the region was high on the agenda at the recent Futureworks (Yorkshire) Team Day, held at the historic Queens Mill in Castleford on the 22 June 2017.

The Futureworks (Yorkshire) team are always looking to stay ahead of the curve in what is a very changing and challenging landscape in order that we can offer the very best support to our apprentices and host employers.

Taking a day out of our very busy schedule to focus on our strengths across the business and look forward to what we need to do to remain on top of our game into the future was very important to all of us.

The day was facilitated by the renowned Intrapreneur International in order to really drill down in the business and provide honest feedback.

Since our formation in 2013, we have developed and grown a team that have very special and complimentary skills and although we knew this, it takes external views to really point it out.

Shared apprenticeship programmes are very much in demand and the unique service and support that they provide in the housing and construction sector is key to turning the tide on the skills shortage, and boosting the number of apprenticeships in the region.

Our thanks go to the fantastic venue run by Castleford Heritage Trust and outstanding food provided by Queen’s Mill Tea Rooms. They are community organisations close to our heart and ethos.
