As well as being Operations Executive at EN:Able Futures, Mark is also the Employment and Skills Manager for the large regional Construction and Housing Frameworks, which include YORbuild, YORcivil, YORconsult and ENProcure.
Mark has over 30 years of experience within the construction industry, having worked in multiple areas of construction within the private and public sectors. His broad base of experience, coupled with his knowledge of the skills and employment sector gained from teaching in Further and Higher Education, make him an invaluable source of assistance for clients, consultants and contractors in the field of Social Value.
In addition, Mark has developed and integrated an employment and skills planning tool within Regional Frameworks, as part of his senior role with Leeds City Council Jobs and Skills Service. This has led to a more tailored approach for individual clients, together with providing practical support on strategy and delivery to contractors and consultants.
The success of the employment and skills model in framework contracts gained NSAfC from CITB. This brought forward, in partnership with CITB, the development of the YORfuture construction sector specific, demand led Shared Apprenticeship Scheme for Yorkshire and Humber.
The YORfuture shared apprenticeship scheme, hosted by Futureworks (Yorkshire) Community Interest Company, has gained local and national recognition from industry, due to its innovative demand led approach and sustainable outcomes, resulting in its recent expansion to cover the East Midlands.
