Raising awareness in Flintshire

We had a fabulous time at Flintshire Business Week in September! Flintshire Business Week 2016 (#FBW16) was jam packed with a full programme of events, seminars, exhibition and awards ceremony. This year was the 10th anniversary of this successful Business Week in North Wales.  The Business Exhibition is the largest of its kind in the North Wales region and showcased seminars on Apprenticeships, Tourism and Social Media. We even got our very own Julie Deeley to deliver a presentation on apprenticeships and skills opportunities!

Flintshire Business Week supports the business community in Flintshire to platform their business whilst maximising trading opportunities and promoting to a wide range of delegates representing companies. This event attracts global, regional and local companies to network and take part in knowledge sharing and innovation.

To give you a brief summary as to what we got up to…. we started off with the launch at Coleg Cambria on 27th September, opened by Lord Barry Jones (President of Flintshire Business Week). This gave us the perfect opportunity to network with local businesses to showcase what we are all about… along with the added bonus of shouting out about the benefits of apprenticeships.

The next day we attended the Careers Fair at the Civic Hall in Conahs Quay, and had the opportunity to meet individuals looking for work and those considering the next steps in their careers. The day finished with presentations from the North Wales Economic Ambition Board.

More activities took place for the rest of the week, including presentations on the economy, attracting talent and tourism. Unfortunately we had to go off back to the office so we missed these but we heard they all went down a storm!
