This month we were proud to be a sponsor at the G4C Awards 2015 in Sheffield. These brand new awards aimed at showcasing excellence and celebrating the achievements of up and coming young construction professionals in the Yorkshire and Humber region and the companies who support and train the future leaders of the industry.
G4C – Generation for Change – was established in 1998 as the junior branch of Constructing Excellence and, following Constructing Excellence’s lead in collaborative best practice, G4C seeks to engage and inspire the next generation of construction professionals across disciplines. The group holds events and initiatives to provide young people with opportunities both for networking and access to the latest innovative thinking to equip them with the necessary skills to drive continual improvement throughout the industry.
So why did Futureworks (Yorkshire) get involved? Mark Scott, Director, can you tell you more:
“These Awards mirror what we believe – supporting young people, guiding them on to their future careers and working together with others. As a company we understand the importance of showcasing success and as we move forward from our second to our third year, and as the benefits and development of shared apprenticeship schemes become more recognised and more popular than ever, we know that being part of events like this further demonstrate our commitment to the industry. We can’t wait to develop our work further with G4C and other partners, as well as building new business relationships.”
This event was the first in the country and set the tone for bigger things to follow. Well done all nominees, award winners and G4C, you are a credit to our industry today, and provide a more secure future.
